THEN NOW

(Written by Ray Snell - read it now before Doug changes it!)
In 2004 my wife Jane and I moved to Indian Lake
into a palatial lakefront villa that I had spent 3 years
totally remodeling. I have a son, Brad, and 3 grandchildren
(or is it 4 now, Doug?). I retired from International
Harvester in 2004 with 37 long and hard (yeah, right!)
years of service there. My favorite hobbies now that
I'm retired include partying, gambling and losing money
to Ray Snell at golf every chance I get.
I'm really looking forward to hugging every woman
I can at the reunion in August.

Doug's personal rebuttal to the above:
Amendment (to correct my long time friend, Ray's, evaluation),
To start, my wife said to correct Ray about our home renovation.
It was a joint (not just my) project and she is right. She did absolutely
all the painting and decorating. I had very little to do with that.
And about that losing money on the golf course to my "old" buddy
Raymond - well, occasionally, but only after having to give him
strokes. I will admit he comes closer to beating me heads up now
more than he used to. I'm not sure if he is getting better or I'm playing
worse, probably a little of both. Living on a lake sometimes does
require a bit of entertaining (sounds better than "partying") on
occasion, but I certainly wouldn't call our home a "palatial villa".
We definitely enjoy it, but it's not fancy, although it's nice of
Ray to say that. I also want to thank my ole pal Ray for forewarning
all our lovely female classmates. It's not beyond me to give someone
a hug, especially all those good looking gals we had in our
class. My wife thinks I'm a bit of a flirt anyways, at times, so I
sure wouldn't want to disappoint anyone. But I'll try not to
embarrass her or anyone else for that matter.
Many thanks to Ray Snell for all the time and effort he has
put into this project!
Hope to see many old friends and classmates at our 40th (I can
hardly believe it) reunion.
